Dubai/Hannover.
Deutsche Messe has confirmed its plans to organize CeMAT MIDDLE EAST
at Dubai’s International Airport Expo Center in July 2010,
underscoring the Hannover-based company’s commitment to consistent
expansion in the world’s key growth markets.
The Gulf region is developing
into an international hub for logistics, offering outstanding
opportunities for the intralogistics sector as a whole. Dubai
especially is expanding its market position, but even smaller
neighbors like Bahrain and Qatar exhibit considerable potential. The
overall logistics market for the Golf Cooperation Council
(consisting of Saudi-Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain,
Kuwait, Qatar and Oman) is estimated at an annual 12 billion U.S.
dollars.
“The
decision to stage CeMAT MIDDLE EAST in Dubai was in response to the
wishes of our CeMAT exhibitors to be represented by a trade fair in
the emerging markets of the Near and Middle East”, reports Dr.
Andreas Gruchow, member of the Deutsche Messe managing board. “Many
of our exhibitors are already active in this part of the world,
while others are planning to enter the market soon. CeMAT MIDDLE
EAST represents our effort to present all domestic and international
exhibitors with an ideal tradeshow platform reflecting the entire
spectrum of the industry,” explains Gruchow.
Dubai
is the main logistics hub for the markets on the Arabian peninsula
as well as for Iran, east Africa and even India. Up to now, Dubai
Logistics City represents the Middle East’s most ambitious logistics
project, with annual air cargo capacity of 12 million tons on an
area measuring 25 square kilometers. The main seaport in the United
Arab Emirates is Jebel Ali in Dubai, the world’s ninth largest
container port, currently being expanded at a cost of 1.3 billion
dollars to include 82 berths with 125 quay cranes with an annual
transshipment capacity of 21.8 million containers. The scheduled
completion date is 2020.
The
display sectors at CeMAT MIDDLE EAST comprise all aspects of
intralogistics, including forklifts and other industrial trucks,
materials handling accessories, rack systems, warehouse systems,
packaging, loading equipment, cranes, auto-ID systems and software.
CeMAT
MIDDLE EAST will be staged at the international Airport Expo Center
in Dubai, in operation since 1999 and the Emirate´s biggest, most
modern exhibition facility. Simultaneously, Deutsche Messe Hannover
will be staging Industrial Automation MIDDLE EAST (the international
Trade Fair for Factory, Process and Industrial Building Automation)
and MDA MIDDLE EAST (the international Trade Fair for Motion, Drive
and Automation). The tried and tested HANNOVER MESSE style concept
of offering several trade fairs under a single roof provides
visitors with an opportunity to obtain cross-sector information at a
single venue and learn about the entire range of automation
products, services and solutions.
